CSCI 220 - Web Page Design


The following, is general information concerning CSCI 220.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course will introduce the basics of web page design. Everyone and everything has a web page these days. When another site is only a click away, web designers need to make their pages stand out from all the rest. Unfortunately, it is not just good content anymore. Flashy graphics are not enough. Web pages must be attractive and easy to navigate to attract and keep your audience.

COURSE GOALS & OBJECTIVES

At the end of this course, you should be able to:

  1. Understand how to design sites that look good and function well.
  2. Understand the incorporation of animation, sound, and video into Web pages.
  3. Understand how to properly test a Web site.
  4. Understand how to make sites accessible to all users—keeping in mind different browsers, platforms, bandwidths, etc.
  5. Understand ownership, permissions, and copyright issues.
  6. Learn how to use Front Page 2000/2002 to design a Web page.
